Eye doc told me last week that I've got a cataract developing in my left eye, and that it's highly likely I'll get one in my right eye, too.
OK, I officially feel old now.
I wondered why the vision in my left eye had changed more in the last 6 months than it has in the last decade. Weird thing was, my vision has gotten stronger in that eye, not weaker. It had never changed in that direction before. Anyway, during that time, my present glasses have become too strong and totally useless for seeing anything within 50 feet (meaning anything inside my house, most especially my computer monitor). So now I know why. Doc told me to "keep an eye" >:p on things, and if my vision continues to change like this, he'll need to see me again.
Ah, the ravages of aging. I know there's a surgical/ophthalmological cure for cataracts, so I won't actually lose my sight, but it's pretty unwelcome news just the same...
