Taken in the worst restaurant in the world, in the most boring capital city in western Europe. (Except for Tivoli, of course.)
This is actually quite a nice picture of both of us. Looking back through our family albums, I've been surprised to discover how few photos there are showing Mother and Me together. I was always either taking pictures of her, or she of me. Note how stiff I appear. At 14, I was still very much under her strict and domineering maternal spell...
*sighs* Thirty-eight years ago to the day. I am now exactly as old as my mother was then. Scary. Very scary. My only consolation is that I still don't have any gray hair or wrinkles to speak of. That doesn't necessarily mean I'll live any longer than she did, though (or even as long). The Big Countdown continues apace... *tick tock* *tick tock*
